Day 3416 of the 7 day Bible verse challenge.

Luke 9:58 NIV Made clear from the very start, this faith will indeed lead to a life meant to come apart from the comforts for which we’ve come to become accustomed. For life as lived here is a life that’s left here. And yes, this is at this point pretty much an ongoing topic of discussion in these devotions, but friends, that is simply because the cause is worth the costs that we don’t really care to consider as we’re content with the content of this invent of an idea in which we can walk this well as we leave this world and not have to endure the fact that to leave this world is to lose this world. And the problem with that is that if we don’t know that such is demanded, we will run when it comes. Because we’re a people who are used to this only way of life we’ve ever known to live, and it is one in which we win and want and wish for what is within this world as such defines our most basic beliefs. For here it’s still that to believe is to see and so we know only to trust in which we ...

Luke 9:24 NIV It’s a promise perfected along what is an almost perfect peculiarity, this path paved into the impossible gravity of everything unknown and as of now so eternally unknowable. That is the heaviness of faith as it were. It’s the substance of things hoped for, the assurance of all that is of yet unseen. And there’s in that this realization that who we’ve been, how we’ve lived, this life we’re so accustomed to working in a certain way is now all of the sudden no longer quite so certain. For there must indeed come a change of scene if we’re to see that something unseen in which we’ve found this impossible assurance. Yes, there must come a moment in which we meet ourselves and decide who we’re to be within the gravity of what we give away. Indeed, there comes a time, a line, a moment of movement toward a singular something in which we find this decision demanded of us, all because to agree that He has indeed descended for us deserves something far more than the negligent indiff...

Luke 5:11 NIV Tis an increasingly beautiful life, this one in which a heart is willing to walk away from a world of wealth because you’ve eyes to see the worth of such a walk as proven within the promise of where it leads. Yet so much of what we’ve come to so sadly assume of life and this stagnant existence within which we lose it and leave it is nothing but our loving a way in which we win what is near without ever nearing what is not. Because we’ve become but a continuation of those many of millions, bands of billions who’ve always been what we’ve still become. It’s just this endless cycle of concessions conceding that there’s nothing worth seeing alongside any ride that resides outside the status quo of living to have and to hold. Indeed, we are a people given in matrimony to the pursuit of money and material, doing so only so that we’ve a wealth this world won’t deny was worth the time spent of the life lost that we gave away in order to get what we never would keep no matter how d...

Proverbs 16:16 NIV Indeed, how much better to know where you’re going than a life lived assuming you’re already there? For such is the half-existence in which we’ve come to this insistence upon the lone substance of our very consensus that our worth is worth so little as to reside inside this world so filled with all we cannot take with us when we go to wherever we’ve lived either hoping to be or denying might come. That is the way of life as lived here, the lost and losing understanding that’s found us standing in this place in which we think this place is the spot wherein our life is to be lived not only forever but then too for whatever we may come to want or agree we need while here. And thus we look always to the world to help us understand who we’re to be, what we’re supposed to do, the very extremities of all life’s necessities as if a world so lost as one in love with the death of sin either could or should be allowed to lead us toward what could in any way be considered what’s...

Mark 12:17 NIV The calling that considers to reconsider where our allegiances lay, and just what that means for every single day that we’ve still to live before we leave. Because be it attention or intention, investment or enhancement, it seems that to live a life is to owe a debt as none can craft themselves but must themselves praise the means and Maker by which they’ve been made to live this life we’ve all likewise lost in lust for what is not but dust gathered from the ground which just happens to look a little different from the dust from which we came. Indeed, down here some of it glitters, some of it’s considered valuable, some is even rarely priced as it’s seen as too precious to be anything but priceless. And yet despite our decision to define our direction as determined by the destinies we’ve long assumed money to make manifest ahead of us, none shall avoid the simplicity of a life’s outcome: From that which is taken is the same to which all returns, for such is the circle of...

Matthew 23:16 NIV As it was then, so it remains now. For we’re still but a people so blinded by the presents that we can’t even begin to pretend we appreciate the presence. No, it’s quite amazingly tragic, a true horror story of old, this story still told of just how tarnished our devotions have become as they’ve been nothing ever but a replica of the revolting irreverence of all those degenerate generations who’ve gone before us. Indeed, we know only to rinse and repeat nearly all of life. Sure, we tout our technological advancements and boast about our bravery in this so called and self-perceived assumption of our having progressed something. But there remains this underlying reality in that we’re nothing at all any different than the blind who’ve always looked only to follow those who likewise will not see. For the truth is that we’ve all eyes which could but yet we’ve hearts that won’t simply because to care is to fight but to live is to buy and you just can’t buy belief nor the co...
