Ecclesiastes 5:15 NIV In their hands That’s where I’ve long sought to see the substance of my life’s successes as always supposed upon the prose of this story I’ve tried to tell of life going well enough to afford enough to have always in my hands something for someone else to see. And indeed, I think that in many ways this seems entirely too logical for us not to try as, well, our hands are made to hold and so it would seem that we’re somehow leaving unfulfilled their purpose if or when we allow for them to be empty. But as I find myself older today I realize that having and holding is only part of a hand’s purpose. And not by any means the biggest part. Rather in recent months finding us moving into a prayer for which our family had prayed for the better part of a decade I’ve instead seen this side of things that has nothing to do with all my hands can hold. I’ve seen this side of things that for once has me reconsidering all I’ve then tried so hard to reach for. I see this side of t...

Luke 18:8 NIV The question It’s not that as often asked of man in regard to either where or what God is nor why He does as He does if He is there to be found in that strange somewhere that thus matches the workings in which this gift wars. Nor is it that as pondered upon the persistence of problem as proven all but perfectly reliable in what has become a way of life in which war is what we do so often seem to see if not in fact feel inside. No, the question isn’t even one to be asked by us at all. Rather the question in question is that to be asked of us. And granted, it seems quite clear to see that amongst this sea there are indeed a very great and quickly growing many who do remain caught within all of these confused considerings such as where God might be as asked as if we might prove the ones to find Him. Others are asking what He is as if He’s meant to be something so small as to actually fit inside of our understanding. Some seek to understand a bit more of faith before ever agr...

Isaiah 2:12 NIV “and the idols will totally disappear.” A promised disappearance determined by the very hands and hearts of those who’ve held them close for however long they had until that day had come when, in fact, what all will see will cause the fulfillment of the promise in which “people will flee to caves in the rocks and to holes in the ground” all because of their seeing for once as if for first “the fearful presence of the Lord and the splendor of his majesty” as will be met by all, and that completely, “when he rises to shake the earth.” For the shaking will be to the then awakening of those slumbering and too unto then the emptying of every human heart and haughty hand of every hollowed hope as held inside all that all people then “will throw away to the moles and bats”, giving these earthen rats “their idols of silver and idols of gold, which they made to worship.” The same as which all have lived to hold. And of this promise we’re told, and that in more books than just th...

1 Corinthians 3:15 NIV If it survives So shall it receive a reward given unto such salvation as undertaken in what is a partnership with He who already finished said achievement only to thereafter ask that we ourselves take part in it in what is the continuation of our own working it out within what is a walk walked within fear and trembling in regard to the faith we’re building as is to be built in Him if we’re to share in Him and thus survive the fire that comes for all. For the fire does come, leaving all then that’s left our own now choosing what will be left when it has passed. Or rather simply continuing to choose to just not worry about such a warning. And while the latter has proven the matter to matter most to most, all of us in fact, the point remains that promises are promises whether or not we like the wording. Which is something we talked about at fairly good length not to awful long ago, that distinction between promise and warning and how both are basically one and the s...

Matthew 3:10 NIV Consumed or Consuming It’s what will become, granted eventually, the very definer of our destiny as deemed then deserved based upon whether or not we’ve, by then, deemed Him the same. Deserved. Deserving to be a bit more specific in regard to this Scripture in particular. For the reality is that all we do as done in what is a choice to do it is done in light of our agreement that such is worth doing and therefore all parties involved worthy of being part of this doing of whatever it is that we’ve chosen to do in agreement with something. But that’s the question which separates those consumed from the few who welcomed the Consuming. It’s that asked of us literally every time we set out in life to do something. Even something as small as a single word can carry with it eternal significance as borne beyond this life in either fruit which is to be deemed good or that which is probably already known as bad. And indeed, we have managed to learn to get all of this quite confu...
