Job 15:31 NIV What is worth? What is worth worth? What gives worth its worth? Is worth what we think it’s worth? Is it worth the work we wage to win what we hope it’s worth? Does worth need to work, to win, to wage the war within what is a life in which we know of worth but so often only so little that has any? Does any of what we’ve come to believe has worth truly have worth? And if so, well, how do we know? Can worth be proven outside of public opinion? And if not, as I mostly assume no, well then what can we know what worth is nor then what worth might be worth? For have not all of us at times before, times still seen still worth inside of what’s, well, still? Does that which has worth never walk? Does worth have nothing to say, no room to talk? Is worth so able to from some be balked, disbelieved, doubted and denied? Indeed, is worth something of a person’s personal opinion as is placed in those places in which they want worth to be? Is it on you or me or me and you to make whateve...

Ecclesiastes 5:10 NIV Empty walls There seems to remain this universal if not indeed unanimous understanding that has in fact led to what’s always been an equally common undertaking as is undertaken by literally everyone literally everywhere. And that understanding is that there must be some reason, some meaning hidden inside or beside, or sadly these days most often only behind the truth that says we are standing here in what is a life we are living in what is a place that is too most certainly alive. What seems strange then is why it so often seems entirely otherwise. For there’s no denying that all of us are in fact living. We’re breathing. We’re thinking. We’re trying, even if said trying is only trying not to think too much about anything. We are all here doing something, chasing something, choosing something in which to place something that is called our hope, our trust, our faith even as is given on the then basis of our understanding that there again must be a reason for our be...

Ecclesiastes 5:15 NIV In their hands That’s where I’ve long sought to see the substance of my life’s successes as always supposed upon the prose of this story I’ve tried to tell of life going well enough to afford enough to have always in my hands something for someone else to see. And indeed, I think that in many ways this seems entirely too logical for us not to try as, well, our hands are made to hold and so it would seem that we’re somehow leaving unfulfilled their purpose if or when we allow for them to be empty. But as I find myself older today I realize that having and holding is only part of a hand’s purpose. And not by any means the biggest part. Rather in recent months finding us moving into a prayer for which our family had prayed for the better part of a decade I’ve instead seen this side of things that has nothing to do with all my hands can hold. I’ve seen this side of things that for once has me reconsidering all I’ve then tried so hard to reach for. I see this side of t...

Luke 12:15 NIV Abundance It’s the now general understanding of a life’s general standing as is supposed to be, apparently, stood upon the standard affluence as is measured anymore in millions rather than milestones or memories. It’s something believed in best when brought to the bank and borrowed from the same. It’s the famous frame of those framed by fame into their too fighting to find the riches and near regality so often attached to the same. Indeed, abundance is something that we daily bear as if not burdened at all by this burning for all that is around us. Problem is that while fire, like water, can sure mess some stuff up from the outside in, it’s only once it gets in that the real damage begins. Because the issue has never been our being surrounded by so many things that are technically temptations in training. The training in this case being only always ours as is done in regard to either continuing to learn to not look with lust upon all that this world is learning, and at t...

1 Timothy 6:9 NIV Destruction’s edge Such is what comparison is. For the truth is that whenever we resort yet again once more into the looking unto those around us to all but themselves define for us what our lives too should be, as is sadly all too often defined by that with which they’re filled, as is then likely to describe the ways in which ours are not, then all we can ever find is just that estimation of an empty life as lain barren alongside a great many who are instead finding clearly their way to what seems everything that would then too make our lives feel more worth living. And yet whenever that stone remains a part placed in any place within a person’s foundation, it doesn’t really matter what’s built upon it as if we’re always willing to wonder as to whether life’s worth living, chances are we’ll remain both open to considering that it isn’t and too to doing some iffy things trying to change that. All because again we see only this endless sea of what’s so easily perceived...
