Matthew 25:32 NIV Dividing lines They exist for a reason and that reason is that, from time to time, distinction must be made between two or more things that are different and need to remain so. It’s this decision, this determination to differentiate between varied groups or priorities or, in this case, eternities. And while strange to we who are here enamored by the pursuit of unity and community and togetherness, the simple truth is that that which is different needs be separated if the differences become so dire as to risk person or possession. In this case both. And that’s because as the Day comes close what we’re seeing is a world still fleeing, failing, forsaking the simple call unto an equally simple faith. So many here in this place still live this life that shows clearly a heart, a mind that’s filled with little if any interest in seeking His glory or even acknowledging His goodness. In fact it could be argued that it’s the majority who have such an outlook. And Judgment Day i...

Romans 8:6 NIV Life and peace What a piece to have of a promise to come in this life we live in the place we’ll lose all we love of what we’ll find was only barely a life that was only barely alive as eternity will soon prove both far better, far bigger, far longer and far fuller! Alas it seems so often that it’s almost impossible for us to imagine such a gift being given thanks to our standing inside what remains the one place in which we fight to live a life as best we can. And while that can be a good thing as doing our best is the least we can do, choosing to remain focused on the world while we do our best is the worst choice we could choose. Why? Because everything here is already gone. And life itself then, this one we’ve always known, it’s merely a matter of eternity’s inevitability waiting for us to catch up and realize that to be the truth. This is indeed why God remains so patient with us. It’s not because we deserve it as most days we make clear that we most certainly don’t...

Galatians 5:17 NIV The war within Seems it’s one won every once in a while and yet lost more times than we might imagine all while being completely ignored most often and worried about perhaps even less. And I suppose that’s just because we’ve become rather numb to the reality of it all. For anymore it seems that our society’s chosen to simply succumb to the downfall in which we all just do whatever feels good, looks right, sounds okay and hopefully then goes the same. We are truly a people who hope always for the best, and while this is a good thing I guess, truth is starting to show that hoping for better whilst not giving our best creates only a deepened contest between who we are and what more we may not even believe we can still be. For indeed, there’s this sad reality that’s befallen all of our humanity that’s found for us this general floundering, this flailing, this failing to find, force, fight or feel as if we even care to try. Rather here inside every day of this collective ...

Romans 8:5 NIV Thus our considerations proven choices that we make alone, but too with thankfully the possibility of then changing them. Even if more than a little help is needed to make that shift to life from death. Which is exactly what we seem to see within that little semicolon separating these two similar yet distinct ideas. Indeed, as used here it seems to signify the separation between two utterly opposed destinations, death and life in this case. Which granted, is something we can’t seem to quite manage to live as if we do understand having only lived the kind of life we’ve known without any real measure of our own personal demise as of today. But such is the problem from which Christ came to save. For a desire for fire will leave only a felon aflame with a firm fervor found within every fallen folly as fancied by those many who’ve themselves affixed their eyes upon the scene of that already seen. Because Judgement Day will validate that all that is now seeable is the same as ...
