1 John 5:11 NIV Where is life? It would make sense for us to assume that it’s found here as, well, here we are and we are all living what sure seems to be a life. And indeed, we are all alive and so, yeah, here we seem to have found a life. But of late I’ve found myself beginning to wonder as to whether something is truly found where it can be lost. Can we really have what we will one day lose? Or is this not something more of a borrowing scenario in which what we have is but ours to have for but however long another’s determined to let us have it? Is not life, as is lived within this world, but a loan of sorts? And, well, is any loan really given without the intention of getting back that which you’ve allowed another to use for a specified time, usually unto the pre-agreed upon returning of both the initial investment alongside an equally agreed upon level of interest? Nobody, at least not many that we know of, is willing to loan us much if anything of much if anything without there b...

2 Corinthians 9:8 NIV A life of suffice It’s a simpler life. A calmer, quieter life. A life lived without worry over want or win. A mind made upon making the most of whatever situation or circumstance you’re in. A heart not quite so heavily laden by all the things that everyone else is looking for, longing for. A soul satisfied with the simplicity of what is simply a simpler life. Sadly it’s arguably the way of life that I don’t know if any of us can or will ever know. I believe it to be the life we were created to know, the life we were made for. But we’ve long since lost the innocence which makes it so amazing. Lost it to looking for the ever-more that we’re all still down here looking for. And the strange part to me is that we just keep looking. No matter what we find, no matter how much we have, no matter how many days go good nor how many don’t go that bad, we still all awake unto each and every day with plans already firmly in place to sprint right back unto the race to what is f...

1 Corinthians 2:4 NIV Madness, meaning, meet meekness. For the path ahead of us is not one for the strong among us nor the wise beside us nor the boldness or bravery within us. Rather the combination of the sheer narrowness of the path which is the Way and the true nearness of what is the Day in which the Way will return, it’s become entirely too lean for a people of such pride to learn. And so instead this path, this Way, it, He asks we lean upon He who was and who is and who is to come to be the One to take the spotlight within our lives as we then live them for Him who died back then for us. A gift given unto all but sadly still one that only changes few. At least in the way that it was intended to. And that’s because the hope of Heaven is held inside our humility. The promise of eternity enters humanity through hearts humbled unto at first seeing their fragility as is founded upon our every foolishness and folly. The glory of grace as was given us in that place that was our grave, ...

Psalm 119:130 NIV To the simple. The accessible, the undemanding and uncomplicated, the unadorned, unsophisticated, uninvolved and widely unassuming. Indeed, His Word was breathed for the benefit of those humble in heart and open of mind, the basically basic who build their becomings upon their bare-bones beginnings of hoping toward their becoming better knowing only then that better is always available to become still as better isn’t a goal but rather a pursuit into the uncertain and unending. For there is no end to the growth or potential of betterment and belief. In fact it’s only demand is the simplicity of the simple, as it’s all that can see it as such. Indeed, the simple, or to actually use a bit of the language of the Hebrews, in the original Hebrew, "פֶּתִ×™" or pethi, it’s a word or rather a thought which refers to those who are inexperienced or otherwise naive. And yet this is right where our modern misunderstandings come to stand mostly only in our way of the bette...

Psalm 145:18 NIV Sometimes we sit as if separated by a million years of misunderstandings and a thousand centuries of complacency, for it does indeed at times seem as if God is about as far away as the hopes we had for yesterday. For within each day is undoubtedly found a new fear, a novel failure to find for ourselves the fullness of faith we had hoped to find by now. That is the peculiarity of this walk we’re weaving along and wavering within. It’s a most hopeful promise proven by a Savior we can’t see who endured a cross we didn’t witness at a time in which we weren’t even close to being alive, all in order to testify to the truth of the Word which we still at times wrestle against as if we can somehow escape the severity of the sin defined within. And yet does that wrestling prove we’re trying to try or just trying to keep from trying? Because it seems as though it could go either way most days. Some of this time we’re given is then given back to trying to seek and find, study and ...
