Jeremiah 31:33 NIV Set apart This is the pursuit of what is that standing command to be holy as He who created us in His image is the same as is the Son who came in our image to show us a reflection of what could have been, what should have been had we been not what we’d become but had rather stayed who, how, what, where we were made. For we were made in His image, a process with the purpose for our to be His children and He to be our Father and thus all, as sons and daughters, to be found living as sisters and brothers who’ve not then all this reason for doubt and debate that we find instead these days. Where does it come from? Why do we stay wherever this is that it’s led us to be as whoever it’s caused us to become? When will we see that who we are, where we are is not where, who He created us to be, calls us to stay, intends for us to stay? How better can we comprehend the necessity of that coming day upon which no more days will come thereafter as time will at last lie shattered u...

James 4:14 NIV “What is your life?” As you’ve likely noticed there are a whole lot of questions asked within these posts. And sure, many of them are quite rhetorical in nature as they’re asked in what’s anything from irony, in regard to our penchant toward idiocy, all the way to what are warnings considered within the continuation of our doing what we know we shouldn’t be, refer back to the idiocy. And there too, there are many questions asked in these devotions that are geared toward making us all hopefully a bit more aware as to what we are doing as discovered perhaps only best through the considerings of why. But then there are questions that even Scripture asks, such as that found in this verse for today. And as with all Biblical study and Scriptural exposition as expanded through detailed, and at times even delayed, expository writing, I know that there are always the contextual considerations to, well, consider, and we will certainly do so within the up ahead in regard to this po...

Psalm 90:10 NIV To where and from what? You know, it seems to me a clearer certainty every single day anymore that we’ve gotten the outcomes opposed. It’s so sadly common to misconstrue hope and meaning into matters made or measured within this moment and never held anywhere nor within anything elsewise. And this apparently agreed upon “understanding” of everything from life to its very meaning has caused us to discount the deeper depths to which we’ve been asked. And we agree to there never go because we know it would be a journey fit perfectly with everything from danger to doubt. And well, we’ve already enough of those to go around! Indeed, we’ve arrived in this way of life in which, as we discussed yesterday, the only thing we never really seem to worry about is time. It’s as if the clock is just there to mock! “Watch me,” we say, insisting that the ticking tune its attention to our proving it wrong. Because surely it’s not really running out. Surely we have plenty of hours and day...

Psalm 39:5 NIV “Even those who seem secure.” Except that “the Lord said to Samuel, ‘Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.’” Can you imagine what that way of life might be like where were we too to look not upon the things people look at nor for those many more that most here seek toward? What better measure of freedom might be found were we not looking to find what everyone else is failing to? What other outlook upon forever might we feel if we felt even the slightest hint as to what hope truly meant? For can hope, as I so often ask, truly be so trivial as to reside inside that which is only finite and fleeting? Why do we so build nearly our every belief upon such things as cell phone screens and movie scenes, both alongside songs sung by souls that know not what security is as most here think it a matter of investment, measuremen...

John 12:26 NIV The call is to share, and yet the response is all too often to fear, to question, to wonder or worry or wish otherwise away this call to wait upon the date of what is a day of perhaps necessary demise as despised by our eyes. See, we love the idea of faith for the thoughts it allows us to pursue and peruse as they’re of what is an increasing novelty when compared against the mundanity and monotony of both mankind and thus too mortality. Yes, we love being able to think outside these boxes we’ve built and within which anymore we keep our beliefs. And thus whenever something comes along that threatens to huff and puff and blow away all our stuff as stolen and stored from both the life we’ve lived and the other we’ve not, we’ve not left the ability to see any prosperity. For to prosper is to us to profit, and what might we profit when the path is paved of pain and persecution and the overall punishment of a life losing its fitment within a place in which we never belonged? ...
