1 Corinthians 1:27 NIV Capsized For it was to God’s pleasure to prove our pleasures perfectly negligent when it comes to what pleases Him thanks to our having learned from one another to hate our sisters and harm our brothers in what’s become a heart so hard that ears can hear but won’t listen, minds can imagine but refuse to believe, eyes can most certainly see but have not any interest in looking beyond what they wish to notice, and indeed our very souls have thus sunken inside what’s become a way of life in which we live entirely antithetical to life itself. All by denying both the second death we owe and He who died on our behalf so that we’d need only endure the first that we too could have missed. How? By never having become so high on ourselves that we took it upon ourselves to wreck ourselves thanks to our coming to consider that all checks need be is only cashed as this encouraged us to partake of no checks checked along the way. And indeed, thou who doth not check thyself dot...

2 Corinthians 12:9 NIV Here in this world of ego and excitement it takes a strange courage to see our insufficiencies as the blessings they've always been. Because we've come to see and assume blessings are to be found in the form of betterment. To bless is believed to be a gift sent and meant to help improve someone in some way. It's, to us, an idea of entitlement, an expected assistance sent to lift our load or at least lighten it in some way. Be it physical or financial, we think blessings are best sent inside moments that leave us safe and secure and sufficient within our insistence upon self-sufficiency. But as we talked about yesterday, every heart will eventually find itself at this moment wherein our very best, our sufficient will not suffice. Yet because of our being these braggadocios buffoons we've become, we don't necessarily have what it takes to meet that inevitability as the blessing it has always been. No, we've in fact always run from it every s...

Ephesians 4:14 NIV Amongst these millions of minions living within such immoral and mongrel mundanity, all who wish not to be found among that growing delegation of darkness should be reaching with all we have for the only anchor we've got. And yet, it seems anymore that even the simplicity of who our Anchor is and where He's found is no longer all that simple. No, today we exist within a place where even the very foundational basics of responsible living such as truth and decency are now considered subjective and therefore confusion has grown in ubiquity leaving consistency within godly contentment an afterthought not really ever thought about anymore by much of anyone. Guess it’s easy to see why so many have such little interest in finding Christ and therefore themselves saved with treasures awaiting them in Heaven. Takes too much effort to break that far away from the warm embrace of this crowd now lying cold and dying inside hearts so stone like they simply don’t want to be...

2 Corinthians 12:9 NIV Sufficient If you're still reading these posts after all the topics and truths that have likely stung a little bit then you probably know that we talk about all of the things that we've gotten wrong quite often within these daily ponderings. And that's because there are plenty of them! We are in every way a very confused and disorganized and disgruntled people. We make far more mistakes than we care to admit. Get far more things wrong than anywhere close to right. But there is one thing that we are absolutely correct about. One thing we have actually understood. One thing we have figured out. And that's that weakness is an insufficiency. It's an insufficiency of strength. It's a failure to be enough in light of whatever situation or circumstance is being considered. It may be a physical incapacity to withstand some weight or pressure being pressed upon us. It might be a mental inability to consider or contemplate things that we've simp...

2 Corinthians 12:9 NIV To present ourselves as a living sacrifice holy and pleasing to God is literally all we have to offer the One who gave us hope at the very chance of anything better than what our sins and shortcomings fully deserve. But in light of the fact that His salvation isn't merely a distant hope but an assured coming promise, to give Him the reigns of our lives as we fully surrender to His will should be seen as an exciting opportunity that we couldn't be more honored to undertake. But as we discussed rather briefly in yesterday's post, there are quite a few stumbling blocks found in that calling that leave much of humanity highly uninterested, and even some who call themselves Christians rather unsure. Could it be that we pull back at the idea of presenting our lives as an ongoing sacrifice to be used as God sees fit according to His perfect will because we're still clinging to this selfish idea that sacrifice and the corresponding humility that makes it ...
