About The Forge

The Forge was founded upon the principle of Proverbs 27:17. "As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another." We're better together. We can make one another stronger and help each other face the trials and challenges of life. There is never a reason to accept less than the best, and we have the duty to help one another grow in faith.

On February 22, 2015 I was challenged by a friend of mine to post a Bible verse every day for 7 days. I found in those 7 days that a week just wasn't long enough. I seriously loved diving into God's word and sharing it with others. So I never quit. As of today, 6/7/2020, I'm on day 1932 of that 7 day challenge. I guess you could say that I've become addicted, but I'm cool with that. This daily Bible verse challenge has just become a regular part of my life, and I am still loving every second of it!

Along the way I've discovered just how far the world around us has gotten from the One that created us. I've learned more than I could have ever imagined about the Bible, what the scriptures mean to me personally, and just how much more I have to learn. I've always enjoyed learning and growing and I want to help others do the same. I don’t have it all figured out, never will. But that definitely won't keep me from trying. I’m just a normal guy trying to find my way through this great big mess of lies and confusion that the world has created, and I want to bring as many people along with me on this journey as I can.

So I've decided to start The Forge to help us all find our way back to the truths that the Bible teaches. The world is getting weirder every single day; we can either sit back and watch it unfold, or we can do something about it. The thing is that God didn't create us as the sit back and let it all go type, that's not how He forged us. We are stronger than that. We don't duck and run. We don't turn our backs. We stand united and lean on Him to guide us through the fog that the world is lost within.

It’s time that we find our way back. It’s time that we get back to leaning on God, trusting in His plan, following His commands. It's time to start bringing back morality, decency, common sense, respect, and all the other things that we seem to have lost along the way. In the midst of all this politically correct stuff, we’ve lost sight of what truly matters, what’s actually important. So please join me in my quest to ditch being right in the world's eyes, and focus on getting right with God. Day 2169 of the 7 day Bible verse challenge.

Hosea 6:6 NIV This is one that I tend to think about quite often. And since it goes with what we've been talking about the last few days I figured we'd toss this one out there as well. Our world is all about the rules. If you do this, say that, check that box then you're doing right. If you miss something or don't get something just right then you're messed up and judged for being imperfect. Here's the thing, we're all imperfect! None of us will ever be perfect. If we could attain perfection then Christ wouldn't have needed to die on that cross to set us free from the grip of sin. But He did because none of us are capable of coming anywhere close to being perfect. But what we seem to often forget is that the rules aren't the most important part. It's our relationship with God. Isaiah 44:22 NIV Redemption: To compensate for the faults or bad aspects of something; to gain or regain possession of something in exchange for payment; or to fulfill or carry out a pledge or promise. Our God is so big that He fits every definition of the word! We've been talking about how we don't have to be lost in doing things our own way forever and how He will welcome us back whenever we finally realize we need Him more than anything else. Redemption is why. All of our mistakes, all our weaknesses, all our excuses have been washed away. There is literally nothing left between us and God except for us.
