Day 3508 of the 7 day Bible verse challenge.

Colossians 2:8 NIV Rather than on Christ. You know, trudging through these days within which we’re all tried and tested by what feels a torrent of attempts to turn our time and attention to the timely yet temporary, things already tarnished and tainted but sold as pleasing though painted, it’s becoming quite the blessed burden. For it’s no secret that life’s otherwise devolved into our not worrying about much more than some list of lies seeking to live our lives by shifting our eyes to holding our hope inside the seen and seeking our safety in the shouted. Because that appears to be where the whys and where’s in regard to what we worry about, and thus agree to go ahead living without, are always apparently waiting for our agreement with the rest who apparently think such things matter most. And yet that list of life we’re now living without has indeed come to include such things as hope, peace, purpose, reason, meaning, meaning then that our every concern is found within the things we’...

Jeremiah 4:3 NIV “First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles to be burned; then gather the wheat and bring it into my barn.” For it’s here no secret that we’ve all both been sown amongst thorns and too had those same prickly opinions placed upon our presumptions that have now grown so thick inside our thoughts that we’re as much this world as the world itself. Simply because that’s the danger designed inside this expected indifference into which we’re all here commanded to dissolve. Sure, it does some enjoyment upon the surface of a society so superficial, but just beneath the vanity down where life grows, well, there is where it does far more damage than any of us can survive. Because to be as indifferent, as irreverent as we’ve so commonly become is to soon come apart, leaving us either bundled with the weeds and thrown into the flame or rather gathered with the wheat that walked a war already won and was welcomed into the promise of He who won it for us. Alas the commonality, t...

2 Corinthians 11:4 NIV May just be me but it seems as if we've all been led out to the middle of nowhere and left for dead amongst a world in which many live as if that's supposedly all that's supposed to be normal as defined for us all of us by those weeds whispering all around. Which is an altogether dangerous design as it’s one day going to be proven that each of us were given the lives we alone were meant to live, lives we did end up living regardless of however many others we happened to allow to live them with us, for us, in us. Because such an existence has sadly become so standard that we don’t even stop to reconsider how wrongly we’ve been reconfigured in order to feel as if we might fit within this fellowship with a foolishness so fancy that it only inspires us to let down our guards and allow in whatever input we might be asked to consider by those who somehow seem more capable of living a life right than we’ve become. Again, somehow. How is it though that we’ve ...

Isaiah 53:6 NIV Life is a matter of our trying as the truth is that none of us know what we’re doing as each day is entirely new even though they’re all so often lived the same. So then do we just try the same thing over again assuming different results? Seems kind of insane if you think about it. Because for any to try is to stray, both from the norm and thus to the common. And while this is natural as we are a people of movement and motive, the problem is now proven in that we’ve strayed so far from what God created to remain normal that we’ve become a commonality altogether counterproductive to the praise He deserves for at first having created us to be as we should have remained. Alas, to remain is to accept, and yet to a culture so collapsed upon arrogance, to accept is to acknowledge only the defeat of the many other designs and dreams we’ve yet to force to be fulfilled. And for us to leave lost any of these ideals in which we’ve so invested so much of ourselves is to all but con...

John 6:68 NIV A question asked and answered in what feels a perfect rhetorical fashion as such is the simplicity afforded us within this faith that lays all of life out plain so that we might see for once the difficulty we’ve long lived only adding to a life that was never ours to figure out any way. For we’ve here learned of a life in which we exist counter to the cliché which states that when the going gets tough the tough then get going for whenever it seems that we see that something will either grow or go contrary to comfort then we wander until we want only to wonder why we might continue to endure what we might otherwise avoid along some easier path paved through calmer seas that we can coast atop without all the added strain and restraint of that narrower call into the beyond ourselves and their incessant insistence upon the safety of our selfishness. And that such is so commonplace amongst all but all of us, well it stands to reality that we’re all then bound to become but rep...
