Day 3533 of the 7 day Bible verse challenge.

Revelation 3:17 NIV “I do not need a thing” says pride to the fool willing to buy the lie that such has always been. For it’s to be soon proven that pride is but a spiritual blindness which binds us to our own measure of moral indifference as decided by us but for us each and every day at the input or expect of an entire world all but morally broken. Alas, the difficulty within any blindness is found within its lack of sight, thus a moral blindness as this which binds us to living only for us as if we can live by us has left us unable to see beyond us and thus we’ve become a people so prideful that we cannot even pretend to tolerate anything or anyone who exists outside our pretense, much less those persnickety few who insist we should too. No, pride tells us that we’ve got this, and it listens to every lie needed to keep us so conceited as to actually consider that somehow we’re the matter that matters most. Leaving us unable to realize both just how lowly we are and because of that j...

2 Corinthians 12:9 NIV Tis here a glad thing to boast about our power as if not such a pretense of pretend as it’s always been. Alas, try as we have we’ve not yet managed to make ourselves more than ourselves and, to some at least, this seems to say that we’re truly not our own for if we were, well then we would have been able to become all we’ve along the way wanted to be. But that we’ve been so able to fall so short of all those desires and dreams paints a scene in which is seen that this life is not about such things as all that we insist isn’t make believe. Such as our dreams and the demands of delusions they demand. For we’ve all dreamt of a many betterment or brighter day only to awake once more unto the rain continuing to pour and the flaws we’ve against so fought still finding for us a failure toward that better we’ve never been. All because to become better has never been within our power. To become worse is by all means something we’ve most certainly made manifest a great man...

Proverbs 28:13 NIV And the prosperity of humility is proven within the courage to confess. For this is not something any would ever otherwise do as it’s the very last thing we ever think to. No, to confess is in a way to renounce as at first the mouth must speak what the heart has likely long held in captivity. Because such is life as it’s come to be lived by those of us, those who are in fact all of us, who don’t really know all that well how to live a life best. We don’t even know how to live life close. For if we did, well then we’d have nothing to confess. And yet it seems and often feels as if our lists of lusts and lies as found in life continues to grow as further we go into this night of which we were warned so as to be on our guard standing against all that is coming to convince us to fall. Indeed, within His Word we read that if any think themselves standing, that the same should take care lest they fall. For that is the only two eventual inevitables in life, standing for som...

Deuteronomy 4:29 NIV Perhaps the challenge in life is that we’ve come to see every decision as a destination from which we’re not allowed to leave once made. And yet throughout our every choice as given, for quite some time, to making all those mistakes we’ve made, there’s been another Way that we’ve always been allowed to take. It’s just that it both demands and deserves our defiant humility if we’re to ever come to see the hope held only inside the only hope we have to live life for all of eternity. For indeed, if from where we’ve looked up to find that we’re all alone within a life so fleeting and finite, a life thus not at all the joyous or peaceful or meaningful kind of which we’d at once imagined, if from there, either down so low or up too high we hit our knees and admit we can’t seem to see the hope from within the fallout, well then we’ve here this hope to say that He’s always been just as close as our turning around. Because nothing has changed in regard to His choice despite...

Luke 22:32 NIV To see that our faith is not a matter to be perfected in us by us is a rather remarkable miracle as we’re undeniably a people who seek to assume that all of life is all on us. Alas, to see this gift of the fullness of faith not being a matter of our own making is sadly not something all that easy to realize anymore. Not that it ever really was. For I suppose that as faith is an utmost personal experience and too one that grows in waves of both known and unknown, it’s just bound to break us up and beat us into disbelief sometimes. Because this isn’t an easy road, and knowing the many times we’ve tried and failed with regard to those easy things we’ve been through, it’s almost expected, the struggle. So much so that even Jesus remains our intermediary seeking to intercede on our behalf for those many moments in which even a half of faith seems a bit more than we can manage. Because this life is one that’s both entirely demanding of something in the way of faith but also on...
