Day 2022 of the 7 day Bible verse challenge.

Hebrews 11:33 NIV

Yesterday we talked about how we have to go all in when it comes to our faith. Guys, our faith is powerful because our God is powerful. So when we give Him absolutely everything and make Him the foundation that everything else is built upon, then nothing in this world will ever be able to beat us. We just need to learn to stop limiting Him and what we believe faith can be.

Like I said yesterday, the time for this watered-down kind of faith is over. The seas out there are getting more and more tempestuous. But we do not have to be dragged into it. We don't have to be pulled away from our faith and into the messes that our world just loves creating. That only happens because our faith is so small. We've created this vision of what faith is, and in truth it's far bigger than we can imagine.

God didn't create us as these weak, scared, and foolhardy beings that we've become. We created us to be soldiers that boldly carry the Good News out into the world. He created us to be the ones that stand in the gap and help reach out to the people who are lost and hurting around us. He needs the brave, the courageous, the fearless, the bold to help make an impact here. And that's exactly who He made us to be.

We've just forgotten it and adopted this tiny definition of faith. Maybe we're used to others telling us what to do or asking for permission. Maybe we think we need to be small and quiet so that we don't rock the boat. Or maybe we are still trying to hold on to bits and pieces of this world and we're scared to leave it all behind. Whatever the case is, we have to stop limiting our faith. We need to stop limiting our God!

He parts seas, gives sight to the blind, makes the lame walk, and the deaf hear. He forgives the worst of sins and heals the worst of wounds. He sends rain in its season and holds it back when He so chooses. HE BRINGS THE DEAD TO LIFE!! He's immeasurable, and His power is equally unimaginable. It's time that we get back to believing and living like our God is a big God, because He is.

All of this stuff going on around us seems huge, scary, and almost impossible to get through at times. God is bigger. The sins that have infected our lives and still hold some hostage are powerful and hard to change. God can do it! No more small and scared. No more weak and quiet. It's time to start pointing people to Christ and stop worrying about offending them. There is nothing He can't do, no life that He can't change. It's time for faith and the faithful to be big and loud again!

  1. Good post. We have a job to do and really it's something we should just want to be a pat of. Follow his footsteps and watch what he does, what he has already done and know that yes he is a poowerful God.

    1. Amen!! We can accomplish so much more than we ever think possible because He is the One working through us. It's not about anything but His purpose and plans. If we can just follow that, then we can truly help change the world!
