Day 2028 of the 7 day Bible verse challenge.

Psalm 133:1 NIV

19 years. Many of us remember exactly where we were that Tuesday morning. Most of us have vowed to never forget. What happened to our nation nearly two decades ago is one of those moments in life that leaves a mark that no amount of time will ever erase. It was life-changing for literally everyone that witnessed that attack on our country. But one of the things that I remember most is the transformation we witnessed in the days and weeks after.

There was this incredible unity among pretty much everyone. Everyone was humbled and filled with this realization of the brevity of life. Everywhere you looked it seemed like American flags took root and blossomed overnight. People seemed to start caring for and about one another more than they had before. Everyone just made this effort to support one another and it was a truly amazing thing to witness.

The peace and love that so many shared in the wake of that horrible day was this little glimpse of what I believe we were created to be. Loving, compassionate, understanding, supportive, humble, and united in all the above. Fast forward to today and you'll see that much has changed in all those years. Sadly, most not for the better. But when we take the time and reflect back on who we became as a people back in 2001, it gives you hope that we can once again come together and rebuild.

There really is nothing that we can't do when we are united and focused on supporting one another. There's nothing we can't do when we're all committed to being the good people that God made us to be. We can't forget that. We can't forget how to be good to one another. We can't forget that we are stronger together than we will ever be apart. We can't forget that we are here to help and love those around us.

As time continues its never-ending march into the unknown, things get forgotten. It's a part of life. But we have to hold tight to the things that matter most, the things that make us better. We have to remember that we each have it inside of us to be good people. We each have the ability to make a positive difference in this world. Please never forget that. Things will always be better when we're standing together and working toward the common goal of peace.

  1. We are supposed to love one another, live in peace and walk with Jesus. It is what we are called to do.

    1. Exactly, and that's why it all gets so messed up when we're not doing it!
