Day 2033 of the 7 day Bible verse challenge.

Ezekiel 3:17 NIV

Came across this one the other night and I think it really fits with what we've been talking about the past few days. Sin is dangerous, and it's on those of us who know that danger to tell others. We are the heralds that are charged with bringing that truth to the world. Now they may not like it, but that part isn't on us. We can't force anyone to listen or like what we have to say. But we have to speak the truth anyway!

I've been watching a lot of John L. Cooper's podcasts lately, and we're in what he calls the post-truth society. People don't want to hear the truth. They want to do whatever they want to do and never want to have to stop and think that it might not be okay. It's becoming such a massive issue that for many, hope is running out because it seems to only be getting worse. Everyone is set on doing what they choose to do and aren't interested in anyone that disagrees.

Problem is that mindset doesn't change the dangers of sin. People living in selfishness, giving into anger, and existing in this life that's lost in sin don't want to hear the truth because it will hurt. It will cause them to have to rethink things. Nobody ever really likes hearing that we're messing up, but sometimes that's all we need to hear. If it can save us from getting hurt, making a mess of things, or hurting others then we need to hear the truth so that we can fix some things.

Look, these lives aren't going to last forever, and nobody has an infinite amount of time to get right with Christ. The clock is ticking and we are getting closer every single day to His triumphant return. We owe it to everyone to let them know what the Gospel tells us so that it can hopefully save their souls. We can't afford to leave anyone untold because Christ died to give everyone the opportunity to repent and spend eternity in Heaven.

We might offend some. We might lose some friends. We might be called names or judged by those who don't agree with us. But it doesn't matter. We're not here to please people or serve the selfish comfort that has seized control of our world. We're here to serve Christ and point others to Him so that He can do the work of redeeming them from darkness into His light. Everyone needs that chance. Whether or not they take it is completely on them. But they at least need to hear that they have that option. Leave no soul untold!

  1. Yes, Si, Oui, Ja, Sim, Evet, Tak: The MercyMe song, "Send Me," here am I send me. The Lord could send you across the street, answer the phone, or virtually chat with a stranger or loved one. Yes, send me, we all should say. The Bible promises we won't be popular. That's fine. Because my popularity group is coming soon. I get to hang out with those that choose to take a chance on Jesus and allowed themselves to be saved by His perfect blood. I'm glad I'm like you. If we all try, we can't save them all but save the ill fate of those willing to listen. What do you have to loose? Popularity now, fame now, friends now, and sin. Live better now for a perfect tomorrow

    1. Amen! We have to stop worrying about making ourselves popular or comfortable here because it just doesn't matter in the long run. What matters is doing whatever He calls us to do to help Him reach those who need Him. That's what matters. And nothing else will ever come close!

    1. Thank you! Felt it kind of building up for a while. It's just one of those things that everyone needs to hear because it's completely crucial. We have to tell people because it's truly a matter of life and death. And yeah, they're definitely a couple of the best bands out there!!
