Day 2039 of the 7 day Bible verse challenge.

Revelation 21:4 NIV

Some days start off fine and stay that way. Some start okay and get a little bumpy. Others start out rough and get better along the way. Then others start out rough and manage to get worse. Today's been one of those last kind. Life is this crazy mix of different kinds of days and emotions. And it's that constant uncertainty through all those ups and downs that somehow keeps us grounded and clinging tightly to our faith.

It's in these rougher days that our faith is tested, but also manages to shine through the most. Yes, it's scary. It's painful. It's nothing that we'd wish on anyone. But it's also a chance for us to see just how powerful our faith is. It's our chance to let go and truly trust that God's always in control and that He's got this, whatever this may be. It's easy to believe that when life is going smooth. Much different story on those harder days.

Oddly enough I've has this verse from Revelation saved in my favorites list for a while, and hey, today seems like a perfect day to share it. No matter what we face in life, or how hard it may become, it's not forever. The trials we face, the fears we feel, the pain we endure, they all have their limits. They have their end. They usually take longer than we'd like, but they'll end at some point.

There's just something about the message of this verse that makes these rough days easier to face. There's a day coming where all of these uncomfortable and unfortunate things are over for good. And what an amazing day that will be. No more pain. No more worry. No more fear. No more shame. No more feeling unworthy or alone. No more trials. No more challenges. No more nonsense going on around us. Just peace. Eternal, unimaginable peace.

All we can do is keep going 'til we get there. There will be more good days, and more not so fun ones too. We will face some things that we definitely ain't interested in. And we'll get to experience some things that we couldn't dream of. But through all the ups and downs of life, hold tight to your faith. Keep your eyes fixed on Christ, and the things we face won't be able to rock us so easily.

Don't live in fear of what might happen. Don't live in expectancy of everything to go well. Don't let the good days lead to arrogance. And don't let the bad days bring you down. He is there. He is with us. He is in control. And He will lead us to that day where all we have ahead of us is peace. Keep going my friends, He won't fail to lead us to this promise!!
