Day 2047 of the 7 day Bible verse challenge.

Ecclesiastes 3:12 NIV

I have a bit of news that may come as a shock to some of you. Kind of one of those things that I think we tend to ignore for the most part. But no amount of ignoring it will change it's truth. So here we go: Odds are we're not getting out of this alive. I know, and I'll give you a minute. (insert brief moment of shock here) It's just the way it is my friends. These lives that we're living have an expiration date.

With so much going on around us in the middle of probably the most deranged year in history, I wanted to encourage you all just let some things go. So many people are so riled up and deep in these fights and arguments. A lot of others just don't feel well. A bunch of us are simply tired of seeing all the drama and foolishness. Still others are losing hope and all the madness is really getting to all of us in some way.

Life is just too short to get caught up in all the bleak parts. Why spend any amount of time being miserable if you don't have to? Why allow the things going on around us to disrupt and steal the peace inside of us? When we reach the end of our time here, don't risk looking back and seeing a bunch of time wasted on things that didn't matter. Don't waste time letting the mess around you get the best of you. It's just not worth it.

Some will say it's to be on the right side of history. Well, our world's history won't matter some day. Others say it's to stay up to date and not get left behind by the world. I've got a pretty good idea of where the world's heading, and you don't want any part of it. Some get all wrapped up in things because they're bored or want to feel like they're a part of something. Read a book or find a hobby that actually makes you feel happy. Don't really see how constantly fighting over silly stuff helps.

My point is to make being happy while we're here a priority. Life isn't meant to be miserable, we just allow negative things to pile up and bring the misery to us. Ignore the junk. Don't pay any attention to the things that irritate you. Find what you're passionate about. Spend your time helping someone else. Do the good things that bring a smile to your face and leave you feeling cheerful.

Again, we're probably not getting out of this world alive. So don't spend any of the limited time you have here mixed up in things that make you miserable. We can't get our time back. If it's not going to matter to you in 5 years, 5 days, or 5 minutes, then it doesn't matter right now either. Be happy and do good. That's just about the best secret to a wonderful life that I can think of!

  1. Very good verse. Life is to short and like you pointed out when it's a storm around you , don't step into it. Walk with Jesus and stay in his peace.

    1. Amen! No point in being dragged into a mess of nonsense when we just don't have to. The more we walk with Him instead of run with this world, the happier we'll be!
