And that’s because, unto us, we sure seem to have the ability, the capability at least, to do a great many things. And that’s because we have indeed done a great many things. All of us have lived our lives accomplishing, achieving, assuming if nothing else so many things that we’ve all but curated stories, novels of accolades and attributes that, seeing as we seem to have been always the instigators or investigators, sure seem to have come to pass only because of us. Alas, just because we may have had a part in something coming unto fruition, that never actually meant that we were the ones who planted the fruit. Romans 5:6 NIV In due time If only we knew when due time was then perhaps we could understand what due time does. But the sad truth is that we can’t and so then odds are we won’t and that simply because something to be done in due time is a time defined as when it’s due. It’s when something is ready to be done. It’s when the situations and circumstances have either resolved or dissolved into a perfect opportunity for that which is to be done to be done unto the best of its possible meaning. For the reality is that nothing much can mean much unless and until we’re arrived at that time in which the meaning is so obvious that we can’t miss it anymore. Problem is we continue to miss it more and more. And this is truly a confusing predicament in which we find ourselves for the reality is that, while perhaps not all of us, the vast majority of us have heard of the Gospel. 1 Peter 5:6 NIV When is life? Another odd question, right? Because, again, as we’ve been talking about for days now the truth is that we have here a life that we are living as we are all here as those who are alive thus living a life. And so common logic as is measured amongst human wisdom would have us believe that our being here as human beings who are humans being what is considered alive, as we are all living a life, means that life is both here and now. And indeed, it is. But so too it isn’t. And I propose this because life as we live it, whilst amazing and tragic and everything in between, it’s just that. It’s a steady blend of everything in between. It’s filled with both good days and hard times. Fun memories and long nights. Laughter enjoyed with friends and tears known by few. Lists of things we hope to find and plenty of those we hope we never need to do. Life here is a perfect chaos in every manner and measure of the word. 1 John 5:11 NIV Where is life? It would make sense for us to assume that it’s found here as, well, here we are and we are all living what sure seems to be a life. And indeed, we are all alive and so, yeah, here we seem to have found a life. But of late I’ve found myself beginning to wonder as to whether something is truly found where it can be lost. Can we really have what we will one day lose? Or is this not something more of a borrowing scenario in which what we have is but ours to have for but however long another’s determined to let us have it? Is not life, as is lived within this world, but a loan of sorts? And, well, is any loan really given without the intention of getting back that which you’ve allowed another to use for a specified time, usually unto the pre-agreed upon returning of both the initial investment alongside an equally agreed upon level of interest? 1 John 5:12 NIV What do we have here? For most the answer to that question usually revolves around something that’s here with us. In fact, the answer is or has been the same for all of us in that all of us have lived all of our lives looking far too interestedly upon the things and theories of this world. We’ve all given entirely too much of our time, our efforts, our energies and imaginings unto those things which we can see thus could hold, could buy within this life that we’ve fairly been convinced that we’ve lived. Because indeed, one would think that to be alive meant that they were living a life. And perhaps we are. Maybe we have.
