Day 2300 of the 7 day Bible verse challenge.

2 Thessalonians 2:12 NIV

Again, if this one isn't spot on for how so many choose to live and behave these days! Our world not only delights in wickedness, they're getting all up in it, rolling around, and throwing that junk everywhere! They're happier than a pig wallowing in a mud hole. Sin has always been rampant in our world, and sadly it always will be. Well, until that impending day of reckoning that is!

People just want to do whatever brings them excitement and satisfaction. Who cares if it's right? Who cares if it's true? Who cares if it may possibly lead to suffering in the infernal torment of an eternity in hell some day? It's fun now right? What I can't understand is why so many are good with temporary pleasure. There is so little consideration given to the consequences of our actions anymore. Seems like the world is content with running full steam into the brick wall of truth and letting the pieces fall where they may.

As we've been discussing, the truth of the Gospel, God's truth is offensive to those living in sin. His truth forces us to confront the lies that we've believed. His ways lead us away from the comfortable existence that we've carved out living in this delusion that sin isn't all that bad. His plans and purpose lead us to making radical changes and leaving things behind, and I guess some just aren't ready for that. But I've got news for anyone who may fall into that group: YOU BEST GET READY!!

No matter how hard anyone may try to ignore it, Christ is coming back and that moment is getting closer every second. The time for fooling around in the dark better come to an end if you don't want to end up on the wrong side of God's wrath! The fact is that sin has a price and that price is eternal condemnation. It's going to lead to a whole lot of pain, suffering, and more anguish than anyone wants to endure. Please do not blindly head in that direction. It's completely avoidable as we have the gift of salvation ready and waiting for us to simply accept it!

I guess it's because I've chosen this life of faith and I'm doing everything I can to be the best person, the best servant, the best follower of Christ that I can be. Maybe it's because I've made all the mistakes that I have and can finally see just how unfruitful and plain stupid they were. Whatever the reason, a life of sin not only doesn't appeal to me anymore, but it straight up scares me to death to imagine an eternity spent anywhere but with my Savior! I know common sense is all but dead but when given the choice between a whole lot of pain and a whole lot of peace, I don't think it gets any easier!

Friends, I want better than that for every single person on this earth! I don't even care if you don't want better than that for yourself. I firmly believe in the truth of the God's word and the warnings that it holds about a life spent running away from God toward sin instead of the other way around. Yeah, sharing this truth with a world that doesn't want to hear it is going to get a little weird sometimes. So be it! All we can do is offer up what God's given us to share and pray that people accept it. But we absolutely cannot stay quiet because we're scared of offending someone. People are heading toward hell and we should never be willing to accept that!
